The goal of the volunteer-run NWYSA program is to provide children a fun time within a teaching and learning environment no matter the child’s abilities, providing each child the opportunity to learn the game of soccer through the development of individual skill, fitness, teamwork, and fair play. Everyone’s help is needed to create a positive experience where children can learn the importance of teamwork and good sportsmanship while at the same time learning to play the game of soccer.

The Boy Scouts of America (the BSA) is one of the largest Scouting organizations in the United States of America and one of the largest youth organizations in the United States, with more than 2.4 million youth participants and nearly one million adult volunteers. The traditional Scouting divisions are Cub Scouting for children in grades K-5, Scouts BSA for youth ages 11 to 17 and Venturing and Sea Scouting for young men and women ages 14 (or 13 and having completed the 8th grade) to 20.

Each year we sponsor families and donate hats, mittens, and toys to children during the “I Dream Beautiful” Christmas event where families are given a special night filled with joy. Making our community better one resource at a time partnering with organizations such as Wedgwood Christian Services who offers a broad range of quality treatment services to children, adults, and families in West Michigan.
Land & Co. Communities continue to partner with the Toys for Tots program to establish donation and collection sites facilitating our toy drive each year. Through this partnership, we hope to enrich the lives of children and families in the community making the joys of Christmas possible. To date, the Marine Toys for Tots program has distributed 548 million toys and supported 251 million children since starting in 1947.
Each year Land & Co. Communities set up Angel Tree donation sites where we are able to sponsor children and families in need. The Salvation Army operates 7,546 centers in communities across the United States. These include food distribution, disaster relief, rehabilitation centers, anti-human trafficking efforts, and a wealth of children’s programs. Our work is funded through kettle donations, corporate contributions, and the sale of goods donated to our Salvation Army Family Stores.
Land & Co. Communities offer a donation site at all of our communities offering those at our community the opportunity to give back to an organization that is giving back directly to the community and the world. World Mission Thrift Stores are also a strong asset to the community. Great shopping, greater cause. The World Mission volunteer stores provide individuals, families and small groups a tremendous opportunity to tangibly impact the Great Commission.
Land & Co. partners with Samaritan’s Purse for Operation Christmas Child where we donate building space for the collection of 30,000 donated boxes. From children to seniors, people pack shoebox gifts each year to bless children in need around the world. Parents often use the project to teach their kids about giving. Year-round volunteers support these efforts across the country. Thousands of volunteers serve annually inspecting and preparing shoeboxes for international shipping. Every hour work stops for a few minutes to pray for the children who will receive the boxes.

Land & Company is a contributor to the Meals on Wheels of Western Michigan since 2013 as a Presenting Sponsor. Meals on Wheels provides home-delivered, nutritionally balanced meals that are delivered to seniors in Kent and Allegan counties. These meals are prepared locally in their central kitchen. In addition to a nutritious meal, their drivers are delivering a much-needed safety check and a smiling face. In 2017, Meals on Wheels served 2,972 homebound seniors 547,816 meals.
